VAT Registration: Approved
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I like to keep things transparent – on both the creative side as well as the business side of freelancing. And with that I think it is important that I share a small but pretty important update with you all: My business is now officially VAT registered.
Before anyone thinks this is some sort of big announcement or a “look at me” moment, don’t worry, it’s not. Going VAT registered isn’t a badge of honour or a sign that I’m now running a design empire (if only!). It’s simply a step that many freelancers take once their business reaches a certain point. In my case, it reflects steady growth and the continued support I’ve been lucky to receive from my clients all around the world.
What makes me really proud is exactly what this milestone represents. I get to keep doing what I love - bringing ideas to life, working with people who trust me with their brands, and saying “yes” to more of the projects that bring my heart joy.
If you’re a fellow freelancer curious about what VAT registration actually means, here’s the short version:
- It’s mostly just extra admin (which I’m embracing one cup of tea at a time).
- It doesn’t change how I work on a day-to-day basis
- It’s part of growing a business, and with growth comes more learning, which I always welcome.
I’ve learnt more about myself and my business in this past year than I can even comprehend. So the biggest thank you goes to everyone who has worked with me, collaborated with me, recommended me and simply followed my journey. Your support is the reason my little one-person design studio keeps growing, one step at a time.
Here’s to more creativity, more collaboration and more storytelling – this time with the addition of a little VAT number.
