As I sign off for the year and reflect on 2023, I am very much reminded of the things that matter. As 2024 brings with us hope and new beginnings, 2023 leaves a bit of a hole for some. The passing of a friend has made me reflect on so much more than just work, but focus on what matters in life.

So, as always at this time of year, you may receive a festive email or WhatsApp message instead of Christmas cards, because the money I have saved on writing and posting cards has once again gone to charity, where I believe my money is much better spent.

This year I am supporting Age UK. Age UK are committed to supporting older people through their hardest days with a vital telephone service, open 365 days a year (including Christmas Day). This provides advice, support and friendship for older people who have no one else to turn to. Can you imagine losing those closest to you and simply having no one else to even talk to? That’s why Age UK’s work is invaluable, especially for those who need it more than we realise.

So next year I wonder if you would do the same. No more Christmas cards, but just supporting those who need us the most.

Thank you for continuing to support my small independent business and for your kindness throughout the year. Wishing you all a happy festive break, full of making memories with those you love, and here is to a healthy 2024.
